Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I think you have some PTSD. That was a traumatic experience to see your grandpa die. I promise you that he would not want you to feel the way you are feeling today. He is with God now and there is no pain or fear or sadness in heaven.
Make an appt. to see a professional and get some relief. They will give you some tools to cope and move forward. There is much joy and happiness in the world and you don't need to waste another day worrying about dying. You are young, healthy, and strong. Start living and trusting that things will be OK. That is what your grandpa would want for you and anyone else that knows you.
Sending you love and hope. Every day is a new day.
I agree with the previous post you should def. see someone, it can only get better with help! I had an insane fear of school shootings and I was able to conquer it with some help from my counselor!
Sending hugs your way! We always underestimate our ability to cope so stay strong!!!
I feel you. I am unable to say exactly who or what causes it, but as an Emergency Medical Technician I have seen my share of death.
My anxiety happens to mess with me on the side now a days where I think I am going to have a heart attack and die. Not sure why, it just does. So I understand your fear of dying.
I can be having a good day, etc, then just be sitting on a couch and think, is this it? It is a horrible feeling.
We have to remember that we have irrational thoughts due to our anxieties and perhaps someone can help you overcome your fear of death.
The fear of the stroke was your mind playing tricks on you. As an EMT I know symptoms for Heart Attack, stroke, etc and believe you me, some days I talk myself into all of them!
You need to try and distract yourself the best you can, think of a positive thought or move onto a project, laundry, dishes, etc provided you have been checked recently and know you are merely suffering from anxiety.
I've been checked, but each day presents a different struggle. I have trbl speaking to my wife about the future, cause at times I am not sure I am going to last the day.
