Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I've never posted on here, usually scrolling through and reading posts helps, but I can't stop feeling for concerns on my body. I can feel my lymphnodes in my groin and a few in my neck. They haven't changed in a year since I found them, but now my groin is sore on one side. I automatically think my lymphnodes are now cancerous. One of my collarbones sticks out more than the other. I don't even know what I think that is.... but it must be cancer. I'm 20 years old and feel like I am wasting my life worrying. But I can't stop and it comes in waves every two minutes I'm okay, then I feel around and I'm not. I tear up all the time at work and I just want to leave. My parents are sick of hearing about it. But I feel like my world is ending. If anyone has any advice or can just tell me I'm not alone

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
The symptoms you describe all sound like normal body functions to me. Have a doctor check you out and reassure you.
Also, is there a reason why you fear you have cancer? Do you know someone who has cancer? I am thinking this fear started from knowing someone who has it.
Ask him to do bloodwork anyway.
a recurring theme in my own anxiety cycles is obsessing. whatever the target of my current obsessing, i worry the object of my obsession to destructive extremes. my lymph nodes were one of the targets of my obsession when i first learned about the lymphatic system. i quite literally worried deep bruises into the tissues surrounding my lymph nodes, worrying all the while about the wide range of illnesses that can infect the lymphatic system. i still find the lymphatic system quite fascinating and want to thank you for this opportunity to use those words again. I don't get to use them too often.
but, sooner or later, we have to get to the underlying conditions which cause my obsessing. whatever the current object of my obsessing, i always find the relief in addressing the underlying anxieties.
do you have any clues what your underlying anxieties might be? just wondering. . . feel free to disregard the question.
whether you choose to answer, or not, i hope to be hearing more from you.
