Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
My wife has had several diffuse complaints including gum problems, joint pain, and recently eyes burning and loss of vision. She says its not a psychological problem and is real, but doctors keep talking about anti-depressants and controlling anxiety. After 65 years (35 years of marriage) of being a calm, organized, pleasant, and competent person, after being faced with a difficulty house move, she is now quite anxious, indecisive and reluctant to seek medical advice.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...

The physical symptoms being suggested as 'anxiety' may be due to the way they are presenting to the medical team.
In order to get physical medical evaluation done properly, reset the way the symptoms are presented - time, date, place, and circumstances for physical symptoms.
Best wishes.
Personally I’ve been having dental problems. And my anxiety increased quite a bit during this time.
For me it’s the unanswered questions that make me so anxious
It can be really hard to know what is what so I just look it as having health issues and anxiety. Physical and mental go hand in hand. What came first?! Doesn’t matter much
Whatever is wrong. She needs to. Be believed and not doubted. Hope you both find some relief soon
Hannah wrote, "Mine causes me to constantly scan my body and look for things that are off." My wife is doing the same thing but she keeps saying, I wish it was psychological, but this is real.
She has presented herself to several doctors including an eye doctor who seem relatively unconcerned. However, she has a close friend who upon hearing her complaint says, this sounds extremely serious, you need to get a better doctor who will pay attention to this,
She is on an anti-depressant but this is her second drug and she does not always follow the doctor's recommended schedule. She is undergoing some therapy but has been slow to this and tends to understate her problems and concerns to any therapist.
Interestingly, she got a little heavier in the past 5 years and then lost the weight over the past 3 months, and now has a very nice figure, but gets annoyed when I mention that.
Anxiety is a really tough situation for a person to have to go through.
