Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I was on xanax and they wanted me to take .5 mg 3 times a day and I refused to because I thought that is just way too much! I never did what they said but this time I listened to the doctor, taking .5 mg 2 times a day and I can take up to 2 full pills as I need it, but have not had many days that I needed two full pills to regulate my mood. I currently suffer from anxiety and I'm currently losing a position that I love which is creating a lot of anxiety in my life. I wish I didn't have to say goodbye to this person. I have two days left with this person but I will still fill in if the person needs it; however, it will not be often. I'm very sad about the situation and do not want to say goodbye. I do not think this person wants to say goodbye either as there is never time where it is just us were I can say goodbye. We developed a great relationship and he is a great mentor and i love it so much I just don't want to say goodbye..
So in order for me to function while I'm there and at my other settings, I have to take the medicine as directed.
Hugs for you.
This is a link to the drug information page. I take clorazepam .5mg twice a day once in the morning to be able to go to work and once at night with my cymbalta and I dont sleep to dream lol Im completely unconcious after I take it at night but in the morning I am fine.
Good Luck
If you are having anxiety bad enough to be prescribed klonopin, maybe you could half a pill next time and try that. You may just need a lower dose so you can calm down but still function.
I currently take .5mg Xanax 4xdaily, and 1mg Klonopin at bedtime with my final dose of Xanax, and I tolerate all of that. Bear in mind, I have been on so many different medications in the past 13 years!!
Now, if I have a major panic attack and I take either Xanax or Klonopin, I will be knocked out for some hours!!!
I think Ativan is the easiest to tolerate when it comes to being tired.
OR taking .5mg of Klonopin may be beneficial to you. I am a little suprised that they would start you at 1mg of Klonopin 3x daily anyway.
Regardless, medications are trial and error, really. So, you have to try things until they work.
Best of luck to ya!
Personally, I can't imagine taking 1mg 3x daily. But, like everyone says, everyone's body is different. I know what it's like to be certain something must be more wrong with your health than anxiety, but, chances are (and they're very good chances, way better than 999/1000) your PVCs really are just due to anxiety.
If this is your first prolonged period of anxiety (I've had three or four month periods where every day was a battle, I know how wearing it is, how desperate and crazy you feel), it might take a while for your body to adjust to the medication. It also might take a while for you to realize you can trust it.
Even now, If I'm so anxious I have to take a pill, in the back of my mind I'll be skeptical about it working because the anxiety will have me (on a half-buried, not totally conscious level) thinking THIS TIME it's not just anxiety, but something drastically more serious. Yet it's always been anxiety, the Klonopin has always worked after a while.
so thats wy you were so wiped out. I rarely sleep less than 9 or 9 1/2
hours after takng it. You can cut the pills in half with a good pill splitter.
Lower dose would probably do the job.
The good news is that all the tests came back normal. You can now focus on some cognitive techniques, and good relaxation techniques to get where you want to be. Use Klonopin as short term help.
The only other medication I have taken which has completely rid me of anxiety/panic is an antidepressant called "Luvox", which is a combination antidepressant and anti-anxiety medication. You may want to try this medication if the Klonopin doesn't work out.
