Anxiety can, indeed, make us sick. The sickness can spread ad infinitum. Seems like no matter how often I tell my anxiety how sick I am of it and from it, ^it^ just won't take the hint and leave. Sigh. . . What's a worrier to do? Life seems to have an infinite supply of things in urgent need of my worrying skills. My worrying never seems to provide solutions, but the worry must go on, sick side effects and all.
Peer support, such as what I find right here on DS seems to ease the worry more than anything else I have tried. Sharing my worries here helps me interrupt the spiral effect of it and calm myself as I let life work itself out.

Look on the web for suggestions on what to do when you loose a job. I used
to go to a temp agency when I was out of work to bring some money in.
Put the worries into a box, and focus on "in the moment" thinking. Mark off each task you do daily.
Keep a journal to help you stay in the current moment.
