Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I do use my faith as a source of strength. I am Pagan, and a core tenet of that is self-responsibility. You can only reap what you sow and nurture. I guess the equivalent would be "God helps those who help themselves."
Reaching out for support is a huge deal and you should be proud of it. Helping others, like posting support and advice on these forums, helps remind me that my voice and opinions are heard and might even be of value to others.
My long term boyfriend is also currently having medical problems, made worse by the fact that he is stubbornly not facing them. I live in worry for him because I can't "fix" it, but neither can I be his carer 24/7 because I have to take care of myself, my illnesses, my career, my life too.
How do I get through it all? I fight tooth and nail every day. These illnesses are just like bodily diseases and need the same treatments: Drink enough water, Eat healthy, Be gentle with yourself, Get enough sleep, Keep your stress level down, Set boundaries, Laugh, Pray, Be with family and friends, and if you are still stuck, you get some medication to help relieve some symptoms while you build up your strength so you can cope without them.
Hang on tight and keep reaching for peace and stability. I'd bet that your own strength will surprise you.
Hearts and hugs,

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain an idea without accepting it - aristotle.
Let yourself have all ideas. But don't buy into them unless they work for you. Work out what works for you. What do you want out of life?
How are you going about getting it?
It is strange to get out of the mindset of depression and GAD, which I had, and start to realise i had questions I had never looked for the answers to: what do I want out of life? What am I doing to get it?
All these thoughts, all these issues: how are they progressing my plans?
If they're not progressing your plans, why are you indulging them?
You have to get ruthless. You have to get brutally practical. Look to your future, get a plan together, and go for it. Despair and misery become irrelevant when confronted with a productive plan of attack for the future and despair and misery are all focused on fear.
Turn your body away from fear and look towards desire. Then walk in that direction.
