Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I came off them very slowly, eventually reducing to 75mg daily, then 75mg every other day for a couple of weeks. Then my ps doc immediatley started me off on another drug, citalopram so I wasn't without a drug for more than a day.
Hope you feel better soon.
Is the Effexor in tablet form or a capsule with powder?
you could always cut the tablet or if it's a capsule open it up and take out a few of the granules at a time wean off over a period of time.
or tell the doctor and they may be able to give you something to help with the transition.
I am surprised that the doctor told you to just stop it even at that dose.

Brain zaps

nausea
seriously does anyone put there know how long this is going to last?
I know it sounds bad, but when my doc was threatening to take me off my meds....I told her that I would tapper off of them, but BY LAW she cannot just make me stop these, as it could cause life threatening situations, even death....needless to say she changed her tune and said ok!
I have still changed doctors and go see my new one next week.
I don't know about effexor, as I was only on mine for 3 days and it gave me such headaches that I stopped it, but with xanax, if you just stop, it can cause seizures and even death. These doctors need to be more UP on what they give their patients!
Good luck darlin' I know you are going through hell!
Today is Day 7 with no Effexor. Still not feeling that great, but it seems like the "Zapping" has stopped. But I am still dizzy. Headache isn't that bad.
Unfortunatly my anxiety is still bothering me. I'm super sensitized to everything right now. So i just sat in this hour long meeting and it was relatively stressful and I started to have a little panic. When the heck am I going to be back to my old self.
Went to the doctor, said it could be another week.
this is the longest I've ever gone without effexor since i started.
Seriously considering starting something else, but I want to see how i do without this medicine at all for now.
well today is DAY 9 with no Effexor. i FINALLY Stopped having brainzaps, and my headaches and dizziness are still there but not as bad. My anxiety and depression is all over the map, but I'm just hoping to feel a little more normal as soon as this withdrawl deal is over.
Trying to stay super strong. Want a quick fix, but it's not going to happen overnight.
