Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Coronaville seems to be in recession in my area. Little League Season has been far more affected by rainouts than politics. I am hearing more and more rumors about kid friendly businesses opening up. I have yet to research any of those rumors because my heart can't take any more COVID provisos. Enforcing that body of laws has been far less consistent than the Masked Justers are admitting. It is far more confusion than this senior recluse wannabe can handle. Oh, how I envy my fellow seniors who were able to weather this chaos without much change to their lifestyles.
So far I have only closed social distances with children at the Little League Events and ever so bit a bit with their parents. I still feel like saying hello to a fellow senior is a viral act of murder. Ditto for anyone still wearing a mask.
I find myself trying to recall my pre-COVID psychotherapy on closing social distances in order to break my psychotic social isolation. Those works were still in progress when the mask mandates changed the subject, entirely. I'm far from certain the fishing expedition into that officially invalidated psychotherapy is worth the effort. Is politically mandated isolation near enough to psychotic isolation to make it worth fishing those ancient waters?
Thoughts? Opines? Reality checks?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
Lockdown, as I’m usually at home with my social anxiety. I did miss my grandson terribly. So that was difficult
Now that. The cdc is saying we can remove masks if we are fully vaccinated. In public. Idk. I’m not removing mine if I venture out. I’m not vaccinated yet anyways but when I am. I will keep
It on. I feel safer with it
As the masks have begun disappearing in my neck of the woods, I am beginning to wonder if the continued use of masks will become a universal "Back Off" signal. It certainly makes it easier to spot the special needs cases. Respectfully increasing social distances, Ma'am/Sir, per your request.
Raising my kids forced me out of the house and around people. I’m suprised it didn’t “ fix” my social anxiety more. But it did not. When the kids became adults, I reverted to my old ways of staying in I can leave the house, but it is never comfortable. The mask kind of helps me.
I was in the elevator of my apartment and someone asked if they minded riding up with me. We both had the required masks on. I said of course and I commented it’s so crazy people feel they can’t get in an elevator and she mentioned she was vaccinated and I said I was as well. We both pulled our masks off in a silly act of defiance in the elevator. Small stupid gesture but it gave me hope we can just stop this mask crap. If people want to wear them, I have no beef with that. If businesses still want to require them that is their choice. But I’m not down with continued government sanctioned mask wearing. Hell no.
The fact that I rely on lip reading to understand people adds another dynamic to my current isolation. At present I have a very tight little of business associates who accommodate my handicap and I am mostly refusing to go outside that established comfort zone. Reading people is hard enough when I can read their lips. I don't even try to read masks, not even when they have words on them.
As masked mandates give way to personal preference, I hope the mask mandatory businesses will state it out front so I don't have to risk touching their germy door handles for yet another rejection.
That sums up my philosophy on pretty much everything haha!
I am not a huge risk taker by nature, depending on the risk but fear mongering is a sure way to make want to just say eff it.
I really try to make eye contact and smile under my mask so people can hopefully read my eyes and know that I SEE and acknowledge them. Because I do think people are sort of becoming invisible.
You are not alone.
I still can't make eye contact over a mask. I keep hearing rumors about "Eye Smiles" and. . . Dunno. . . Increasing social distance, again. I know I'm doing my best to be invisible. Please don't notice me. People are making less sense to me than ever. I damn sure don't wanna hear yet another interpretation of the most recent laws. I forever fear I may go ballistic on the next person who quotes medical propaganda at me.
kind of way but just as a fellow human being I suppose. I remember in my late 40s it occurred to me at a certain age you become sort invisible. And now most people are invisible because of the masks, whether they are trying to be invisible or not. I’d like a choice in the matter, haha!
Here’s to doing whatever it takes to muddle through this nonsense and come out the other side fairly intact.
Alas, the local authorities who ushered me to "Help" only stuffed my Super Cape in my mouth while they handcuffed me. . . So much for the infallibility of my Super Power. Buttttaaaa, I still have a pretty good feel for when no one is paying attention and am still confident that **they** can't stop me if **they** can't see me.
I am ever so grateful I retired from my tech career before the unrealistic expectations of 2020. My cohorts still in the biz are running for their lives from the current trend of making remote work mandatory and permanent. Myself, I'm watching what grows from a safe and still growing social distance. Good luck, Wise Leaders.
