Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hello! I am very new to this but have been seeking a community and support for a long time. I've a pretty tough go at life and find it hard to cope with most things. Most of the time I am the "giving" friend and never the person that feels supported. This includes my relationships.
I live with my boyfriend of 3 years (across the country from where I grew up). He lives & takes care of his grandparents and I love it here. I love his family and I love him.
Now, I know we have been together for a while but i feel he doesnt support me. For me that means a lot because I do suffer from anxiety and panic attacks often. I never want to put anything on him so i usually just internalizing things to spare him. I also know that at the end of the day, this puts me down an even deeper hole. But even if I were to tell him, I feel that he is not supportive enough. Actually, probably at all. He blows over my issues even though he knows how hard it is to share what im going through. This makes it hard for me to cope when I am going through these moments. I have no support, my unsupportive family is across the country AND the one person that I would almost expect to be there is never there when i need him. Even though we live together.
I want it to come across to him that I need more help and support but I do not know how without feeling hurt in the end. I hope I was detailed enough.
Thank you in advance for any responses, I really do appreciate what people do for each other on this platform.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light. John 12:36, NIV

It's always difficult when the person you love is not as supportive as you feel they could be.
Maybe compose a letter to him explaining what it's like for you when you have anxiety and panic attacks. So at least he would understand what you go through without you asking him outright for help and see if he volunteers any support.
In the meantime DS is a very good support system and I am sure you will receive a few more replies to your post with other suggestions.
Hmm. Anxiety is natural. It is a part of us.
I'm going to suggest rather than ask for support, encouragement, understanding, acceptance from your partner, you write out everything in a private journal, work through all the feelings, thoughts, emotions, and you keep it private.
You are responsible for what you say, do, react, and respond. You are NOT responsible for what anyone else says, does, reacts, or responds.
When you change your response to fit your improving well-being, it changes the others' response as their usual will no longer fit. It does not always change for the better, so you make more changes, and eventually, it improves.
Venting here is a safe way to move through all the process of a better balance.
Finding what works for you comes from you, no one else.
Best wishes. You are not alone.
Also no I do not have/take medicine. I barely have friends here that I can talk to that weren't his friends first.
Also update: I Have started to look for therapists in my area. I have also written a letter to him (suggested by Carolin57) describing my anxiety and I feel like that has really help him understand what I am going through. We talked after and he just simply wasn't understanding the magnitude of my anxiety and vowed to be more supportive.
I really do thank you guys for being so supportive and helpful
