I am worried sick about the situation, I am going to get in touch we debtline to help, but I just dont want to be here now. I am a carer to my disabled daughter, so I cant work, her health is deteriating, between money worries and her its giving me health problems. I've had chest pains, a jaw spasm that just wont relax, which also makes my ear and head hurt, I had foot pain last night of all things. I'm at a loss as to what to do, I am so scared of becoming homeless, I want to disappear in a puff of smoke, to somewhere where I feel safe. I dont want to be in the house, it no longer feels like a home, the atmosphere hasnt been as good as usual. I'm just so scared!

Jay's podcasts are really good. I watch them on YouTube for free. Today, I watched his video about motivation. In fact, I've been watching a few videos on this subject. Jay gave us an assignment to complete the following sentence: I am stuck because? I don't describe myself as stuck, but to finish the sentence, I would say that I am stuck because I am tired. When I have energy, I do...

Does anyone here have a comfort item you carry with you when you go out? For example this is my doll, Annie, and I've recently been bringing her with me when I run errrands flor have an appointment. Holding her comforts me. I've bought her clothes, crocheted for her, I recently bought a personalized blanket with her name on it. Just wondering if anyone else has a comfort item.

Of course, venting is its own relaxation technique. Vent freely, vent often.
Continued support while you work it out, Ruth. You are not alone. You can do this.
Unplug EVERYTHING that isn't necessary when not in use (coffee maker, toaster, even lamps).
Set thermostat as high as possible in the summer, and as low as possible in the winter. Better to live at 55 degrees inside and have a home...than to live outside at the mercy of the weather. Same with air conditioning set to 85 degrees. It won't be very comfortable, but it will take the edge off and be liveable.
Take food down to it's basics...potatoes, carrots, onions, rice, beans. eggs, apples, bananas, oil, flour, sugar. I find boneless chicken to be the best value in my area. Do massive baking sessions and bake and freeze french toast, pancakes, etc. Then on days when you want something more than toast, hard boiled eggs, or oatmeal, you can reach into your freezer for convenience foods that you've made yourself. I also love my crockpot and can make a dozen different meals in there. I prep them all on weekends and freeze. Then it's dethaw for about a day, and dump and I'm done.
My mother was raised in the depression, and had me when she was older, as such I learned early, just by following many of the things that she cooked...how to feed myself and my 2 kids on about $200/month. And we eat GOOD. (((It used to be the 4 of us for $100, then the 3 of us for $150...but prices have gone up.)))
I get a coffee out...about once a year.
The closer to the edge you are with money, the more you need to save...something. Five dollars helps...
Don't just accept an expensive prescription. Let your doctor know if you can't afford it and see if he can substitute to a less expensive one. Alternatively sometimes you can get double strength, and cut the pills in half.
