Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
However, you raised a good point. What kind of comparable diagnostic tests are available for people with pacemakers? Certainly there are people with other medical conditions that (physically) don't lend themselves to having an MRI. (Phrasing it that way because yeah, we're supposed to turn anxiety on and off like a switch...)
When you're feeling better, I'd just ask, even if just out of curiosity. Meanwhile, I think you're on a good path with seeing some of the other specialists and the acupuncturist.
I hope you feel better!
((HUGS!!))
Being one who goes with alternative healing, I often get a raised eyebrow at best and an "are you CRAZY???" at worst. Doctors don't mind me using acupuncture for my "imagined" problems like anxiety and PTSD or even my IBS or migraines, but THIS is serious! This is real for God's sake.
The fact is that when my son was 9 months old and desperately ill, the ER turned us away saying it was jut the flu and he'd be fine. I took him back the next day and again, they turned me away. The third day he was listless. I took him in and they said I was being an overprotective, hysterical mother.
I took him to the acupuncturist and she diagnosed early liver failure and called my doctor to tell him how to treat it. Without her intervention, he could have very easily died.
It was an alternative healer who found the MTHFR gene and the folate she gave me has cured my anxiety (I still feel anxious in these sorts of situations, of course), my IBS and helped my arthritis immensely.
I trust my acupuncturist but feel almost irresponsible not doing exactly what the MD tells me to do - even though from what I'm reading the acupuncturist is the smartest route with this.
Feeling nervous. Reassurance, cheerleading and hugs are appreciated!
How about a second opinion on that MRI?
Ppl saying u can control anxiety are hard for me to imagine. Kindly ppl saying that, I mean.
Recently I had an open MRI of my neck for spinal stenosis.the only way I was able to do the MRI was because my Dr gave me a sedative to take 20 min before the MRI. another option is to ask your Dr to write light sedation IV on the scrip if that can be medically done.
good luck.
