I think it can reduce anxiety to think of life that way. Look at each situation, did I perform well, make good decisions. Try not to worry about worst or even best case scenarios or even the result. There's few things more stressful, one can lose 10, 50, or even 100,000 on a single hand. But working on being present-centered on help one play better.
I think one thing behind anxiety is the belief that thinking about the result and importance of the event can enhance performance.
