Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hate to hear that your anxiety's kicking in after work,,just what you need after working all day,,Right?....No,,just kidding my friend,,but I know what your talking about. Back when I Was able to work,,I was an electricain and worked hard,,loved my job,,gave it my all....Expecting to come home and be So tired that I'd hit the sack before dark....But not this guy,,,,,,,my anxiety use to kick in real hard after work. It would start on the drive from work to home. It was'nt always like that,,but for some reason it started happening. It did get to the point to where it led to insomnia,,,,so I had to do something....I was told by a doctor that as soon as I came home from work,,to shower (which I was already doing) :),,,and then do my breathing exercises...I have to say that it helped a great deal........Also he told me to talk with someone about my day......Maybe theres something underlying that needs to come out. Just guessing here....But I know where your coming from and I Do hope that the anxiety,After work lets up for you..Take care my friend.....
This is actually my first post here. I want you to know that you are not alone in what you are going through. I have suffered with nauctural attacks for years. As you stated, at times they would be under control and then they would come back. It seemed that I would be okay during the day and if I did experience any anxiety,it would be mild and I could handle it, but as soon as I leave work and begin my commute home, it kicks in. The fear would be overwhelming and unbearable at times. I would have many sleepless nights because of the fear that I would wake up having one. Many nights I walked the streets, two, three, four in the morning alone with water, a towel and a cell phone. God was watching over me. I had no support, single mom with three kids. I would be exhausted the next day. Emotionally drained.
- Take a walk if possible after work
- Bath or shower with a lavender bath soap or body wash and lotion.
- Play soothing music while you sleep
- Don't focus on your problems, or issues at work during bedtime. Let it all go and think positive thoughts.
- Read inspirational articles and books before you retire
- See your doctor for advice and sleep aids....the insomnia will begin to affect your life in many other ways.
- Most important, PRAY. Trust God for total deliverance. He can do it! Find scriptures on healing, peace, faith and fear and read them continously.
You are in my prayers.
I wish i had my Furry friend =(..my ex wife has him...Do not get to see him often.
I've started excercising pretty often recently..Im hoping that will kinda chill the anxiety a bit.
Highanxiety: I think I know a big trigger may be my ex wife (seperated 6 months..she left me for another dude.) Unfortunatly we moved into my parents building 1 month before the split..so when i moved out i only moved up stairs. I think the anxiety of seeing her with another dude or something is always on my mind perhaps?..Makes sence.. I seem to get more anxiious at times i know she's home...err
Tonights been pretty good acctually...layed down and watched a movie...very relaxing evening...hopefully a step..forward.
Thanks for the reaspon's everyone!!!
I've found that exercise works, and eating well is really important. try drinking a cup of chamomile tea before you go to bed!
