Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Hi, I have had a pretty shitty week at work. I got given a "show cause" notice last week and have been stressed to the hilt about it all bloody week. I went through it all (6 complaints raised against me) and EVERYTHING was either incorrect information or a general mistake that EVERYONE in my team has done and continues to do. So I replied to each one of them and gave evidence to back them up. Felt good with what I had come up with for my defence but yesterday morning the day the meeting was to take place I experienced one of my worst anxiety/panic attacks sober. I went completely white and pale, shakey, queasy and fluctuated in body temperature. I tried to calm myself down with a wet paper towel to my head and neck but my supervisor saw and asked if I was ok to which I replied no and broke down. The stress my job already creates let alone what this show cause meeting has added has got me stressing even more about my pregnancy because of course I have to be 10 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child. I never experienced this level of stress with either of my other pregnancies and it has me completely effing scared I'm going to lose this baby. So back to my story, I was sent home sick with no call about the outcome of my meeting that I had to miss because they sent me home and no call about my welfare. I rock up to work this morning with nothing more then a hello till I had to do some work then I got "feeling better today?" Like anxiety is just supposed to disappear overnight. I have been fighting back the emotions running through me all day today and now I'm stuck back in the office and fighting back tears and the urge to be sick. It is so disappointing that it has become so apparent that I am expendable to this team. yes I work in local government (the council) yes we are hated by the public because I'm not the good kind of local government, I'm the kind that issue fines for dogs off leashes, for animals not registered etc we also collect dogs off the road and work at the pound so yeah stressful job to start with but this whole experience has just made me so sad and now I experience anxiety just rocking up to work. I'm lost on how to find my groove again but I don't want to be here anymore and that's not helping me continue to do my best at this job.
just had to rant that out. I don't care about my job anymore but I can't financially afford to quit. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place; stay in a job that caused anxiety attacks and no one cares or quit and have a disappointed partner till I get a new job. Sorry thanks for reading

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Work stress sucks. Gentle support while you work through the challenge.
Listening. . .
As far as your job. Here's how to look at it. You are there to work. You receive a paycheck. You do NOT have to care about anyone or anything other than to do your job professionally and be polite.
The anxiety is working for you. Write it out and keep writing it out until you see what is happening.
Keep your balance at work by focusing on tasks and staying in the moment. You're working until otherwise noted.
As far as the "show cause" fallout, stick to being polite, no matter what, and keeping your self professional.
Best wishes as you make your way through this.
