im sorry i know it, s realy awfull because like you said the less sleep you get the worse it seems to the anxiety in the night and the next day.
Sleep has allways been a problem for me, im on ambien and now lithium, barely slept this past month, i finally slept god this weekend but but only slept untill2am lastnight and then cat nap untill 6, im like that everytime i have towork.
I try not to nap at all in the day, then just keep working when i get home then go to the gym in hopes eventually my body will get exausted and sleep.
Do you take anything to help you sleep?, it doesn,t have to be an sleep aid, it can be a antidepressant, some of them can make you very sleepy at night if your having exteme trouble.
If you have never taken a sleep aid 2 benadryl help but only for a short time, the hospital gave them to me for sleep when i was there.
You might want to talk to your doctor if your problem has been going on for along time.
I also usually just get up and do housework untill it,s time to go to work if im realy super wide awake in effort to wear myself out.
I hope sleep comes your way soon!
Hugs xx.
Sometimes I take a warm shower and that helps, and if that doesn't work, I take a tylenol PM or a small dose of xanax and I am able to return to sleep.
He told me that the side effect of Benedryl was sleepyness and it was safe for me to take.
Currently, I have my rountine, 1-1/2 to 2 hours before bed I drink a warm milk with honey. Sometimes take an epsom salt bath, the magnesium is a relaxant. I also bought some lavendar hand cream and rub it on my hands since my hands are near my face. I also bought lavendar spritz for the pillow. (@ Bath and Body works).
I can get to sleep at Midnight each night ut wake up anywhere from 4-5 hours later. Then, spend the next couple of hours tossing around and getting 1-2 hour sleep.
My daughter's TV has an OFF timer so you can set it to turn off after you think you'll be asleep.
The second thing I do is use an aromatherapy eye pillow. I find it to be extremely relaxing and a terrific way to clear my thoughts and get me in a better frame of mind. The eye pillow blocks out any light and allows me to just unwind. Its especially great after a tough ride home in traffic. The weight of the flax-seed inside the aromatherapy eye pillow applies the perfect acupressure on my temples and eyes. Its great for headaches as well. You can find them in a lot of specialty stores and also online. I know that lavender is very soothing and calming but I use peppermint. It just opens up my sinuses and helps me breathe so much better. That fact alone makes it easier for me to fall asleep. The one I use I found online at A Touch Of Satin. Their website is http://www.atouchofsatin.com if youre interested. They had a page on their site that talked about the benefits of the different scents. You might want to read what they say about them.
Try flipping your pillow over to the cooler side and when you start to think about things on your mind.Just SMILE! Smiling always seems to make things less stressful.
I hope my suggestions help! Let know what you think.
