Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
What kinds of classes do you have? Are there any extracurricular activities also?
Encouragement and hugs!
I take 4 APs, health, honors math and chinese.
I don't go to classes exactly but I try to keep up with my music and art and writing so that i don't completely get out of practice and so that I don't go insane >.<
I use art or music to change gears in my studies on subjects. Standing up stretching and or doodling which usually was related to what I just ingested in some form, then close one book and open the next.
I also calendar the assignments with a proof read day inserted. What sounded great at midnight might need adjustments in the daylight. Set alarms for which class and which materials I need to bring. The first thing I learned in the psychology of education was clear the noise, this means desk except materials, outside distractions and people.
Most chapter work are like those hanging monkeys. So when you do the reading or videos make an list of the topic(s) and chapter at the front of your designated notebook, or a separate folder subject file like a time line. Previous work will be easier to find. I hand write a lot since this offers the information two routes into my memory. What ever works best for you. Then re-read before you start the next section.
Since the next step and assignments will feed off of the previous work. Your notes will give you a running start refresher on the next chapter and assignment. Your teachers don't expect you to know what they are giving you, otherwise why would you need the class as a requirement. So let them lead you through the material.
For projects, do you do presentations or observational type? Either way looking at them as the artist in you will help you "build " the project with the material you gather ( always cite sources! MLA, APA as required). What's the foundation, perimeters, observations and conclusion?
Math is especially hard for me. I blank due to the affects of my PTSD, my husband passed from cancer, but the overload of financial paperwork, Dr., treatment medication...Poof, numbers went. I block/freeze on written numbers, but the acronym PEDMAS helped out immensely with keeping the order of operations clear, (I wrote it at the top of every page). I also used videos on you tube to help me with complex equations. Both helped me get past my numbers block to get the work done.
I liked the medical and Psyche classes even if they did trigger me so I was in need of editing papers rather that making a word per paper assignment. I wrote 6000, when I needed maybe 2000. but that's my OCD. It's easier condensing to an outline than filling in when you don't have enough material.
Hope this helps.
I'm taking a semester break now after 12 consecutive semesters.
