Does anyone out there know how long it takes for side effects to go away?

My doc started me on these and I could only stand it for 3 days. The side effects were nausea, black stools, loss of appetite and my stomach felt like it was in knots.

Also I would like to know if there is some way that maybe we can call each other like some sort of sponser thing when things are getting maybe out of hand so we can maybe talk each other down. I would love to have someone to call and just vent or vice versa. I don't mind writing online, but all this typing has to go... LOL

When i was but on Cymbalta it took a month to feel better and now i love it and makes the pain in body not as bad. Hang in there and what is it that you are taking? Some take long some less it does depend on what you are on. Love Lisa

I am currently taking zoloft 25mg for about 15 days for anxiety and mild depression. I only had side effects for 6 days minimum. It also depends on the person and how the metabolize the drug. The side effects that i had were mild. I also had a loss of appetite (which came back) and some nausea and my stomach was also in knots probably because AD's can heighten anxiety for a few days until your body adjusts. Maybe that particular AD isnt right for you or is too much. Which one are you taking?

It normally takes about 2 weeks for the side effects to go away but the
first week is the worst. All the stomach problems plus headache are
to be expected with all of them . Its ok to start at a really low dose, below
the therapeutic level, and go up as your body adjusts. I have been on 6
different ADs over the years and only Lexapro and Vyybrid made me
too sick to stay on them...lasted 2 days on Lexapro and 2 weeks on Vyybrid before I gave up.

I was taking Citalopram HBR 20mg. I took Paxil for about six years with no problem until they switched me to some generic brand. That made me feel like my skin was peeling off. so I stopped and that was about 10 years ago. I'm thinking about going back on a very low dose of Paxil for starters, maybe between 2 to 5mg.
