Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself. I joined today because I have suffered from anxiety (and depression) for many many years. In these days now of social distancing I'm worried about my well-being because I already don't have much of a social life. I'm currently single, live alone, no children and no family or close friends nearby. I have been trying for YEARS to make connections and improve myself. I'm not young, but I'm not old either, however it's just hard. I work a remote job from home and I don't go out a lot.
So, here I am today feeling very alone and in need of support. I hope that there is a positive lining to this Coronavirus. But in the meantime I felt like joining this group so maybe I won't feel so isolated. Thanks for being here, hugs.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Anxiety feels like it’s getting worse as the days pass but I’m doing my best to get through it which means crying sometimes. I hope we both find some comfort from joining this support group
Somewhere in the storm of Corona opines and postulations I bumped across an article indicating that people with histories of mental illness are ahead in the Corona madness. We don't expect human culture to make sense of us and have far less sense of loss in the closings and resulting chaos crowning all the institutions we havenae ever had a stable piece of. A level playing field, at last.
Dunno if I want a piece of the PCM (Post Corona Madness), but . . . In my more serene moments I find myself wondering if the PCM culture will be one where each of us, psychotheraputed or chronically perfect alike, feels empowered to be purely and fully ourselves.
Putting my delusions of hope aside for now. . .
My flight instincts have me ready to burrow so deep I won't have to worry about washing human pathogens off my hands or out of my ears, but for now, I am still allowing myself to take comfort in knowing I am not alone in this strange new world. For now. . . The jewels of the Corona Crown are still growing and defining themselves. We see what's left after the shooting's done. Maybe. My flight instincts may have gained the upper hand by then. Go ahead and call **me** crazy. One name is as good as another.
At the end of January I had the sudden impulse to move from my urban/city apartment to a more remote location. I felt the need to be in a nicer apartment with big windows and closer to nature. I'm glad I did because I can still leave my house now and get sunshine and say hi to my neighbors (from a safe distance of course).
I'm used to being alone and I've got most of the tools I need to pull myself up out of fear, because I've had to it on a daily basis for like, forever it seems. Like a lot of people with anxiety my childhood was very chaotic and out of control so I'm no stranger to these feelings. It's not always easy, I get triggered a lot, but I know I'm strong enough to get through it. I do hope that the 1% sorts their stuff out soon so we can all get back to our normal routines. I really feel for the 'mom and pop' establishments who will be hit the hardest financially.
Thanks for your words I appreciated them a lot.
I still ain't worried about the microbes nor the likely possibility that it might be a microbe which ultimately facilitates my inevitable death. When the time is nigh, that is a very likely possibility. There are quite allot of microbes capable of taking out a geriatric immune system. Death doesn't frighten me. It is part of the natural order.
It's the insecure safety freaks who are scaring me into deeper isolation than the 1% intended, both literally and figuratively. You call that, "Living?" Are we safe yet?
Here's to a healthy balance and safe connections with people who understand!
