Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I've been doing the deep belly, breathing and light exercise for my anxiety. The deep breathing would be good at work. It just takes a minute and no one even knows your doing it. It slows your heart and pulse rate. Take a walk on your breaks and lunch hour. If i do a 10 minute walk it tamps down the anxiety for me somewhat. It releases serotonin and dopamine into your system which is good for you.
Let us know how your doing.
For example a doctor gives me prozac in light dose and I see a therapist.
/ I'm afraid I have no insights about brain fog or anything alike to it, so I'm simply interested in anxiety here. Which I *do* know about unfortunately.
Have you had opportunity to talk to a dr about it? --Several times; I mean one doctor talked to on repeated occasions so you know it's gotten thru to her/him. . . . . . . get well soon . . (((( E ))))
My problem is that I am brain dead.
Cannot get my brain to wake up and what's going on around me
I start to talk and then I go blank
I can't process information or things through
Just in a daze
All of that sounds like brain fog to me. I do have a lot of experience in therapy, and have to deal with my anxiety daily. I also have a pdoc, that helps. I'm on Klonopin for the anxiety. I also have PTSD that comes and goes.
The reason I'm asking if you have had blood work done in the last 6 months to a year it would give us your thyroid numbers. Quite a few people are Dx'd as bipolar, depressed, brain fog, there are a number of other symptoms, anxiety being one of them, that is actually your thyroid being off. You can read this on the hypothyroidism support group, on the different posts, or just ask a question. The people on that board are very nice and have so much knowledge and the medical links to back up what they are saying.
I'm sorry that your having such a hard time right now. I've had anxiety now from two of my illnesses for about 18 years. So unfortunately, I am really in touch with it. I would love to get rid of it. But getting my thyroid right has helped me with the anxiety when my meds are right. It was just something for you to think about. I hope your feeling better soon.
I agree that it'd be good to go in for a work up and while they're at it, ask them to test for the MTHFR gene mutation. That can cause anxiety and it's a super easy fix if that's what's going on.
Hope things get better for you soon.
but, what you described,(although of course i cannot diagnose you) sounds like dissociation.....
i have experienced episodes of dissociation where i have felt almost totally set apart from the world, and had this odd feeling of trying to "get back,"if that makes sense.....
therapy has been the most helpful for me in overcoming this, especially grounding exercises....
if you are indeed experiencing dissociation i would encourage you to start working with a therapist if you can and to read up on DBT....the grounding techniques and coping skills of DBT can be incredibly helpful....
i hope things get better for you....
