Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I’ve never been diagnosed with anxiety disorder, but I know I have it. From what I’ve read before, it’s something known as a functional anxiety disorder. It may not have the obvious signs, but if you’ve paid close attention to me you’d notice that something was up
Lately, I’ve felt chest pressure and difficulty breathing. To lessen the intensity of this pain I would peel the skin off my fingers or cross my arms so tight that I’m practically squeezing my body. The worst part I know what is causing my anxiety. I’ve been talking to this guy on the phone for 3 weeks, who I met on a dating app, and I really like this guy so far. I’ve never had much luck when it comes to romance and I tend to over analyze and worry myself so much for the worst possible outcome
I’ve tried all the techniques: deep breathing, meditation, yoga, positive thinking, confiding in family and friends. But, my anxiety always seems to return. It’s been a constant struggle and I just trouble trying to be positive and letting things go

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

I am one of the many biology students who believe anxiety is a vital part of the human survival instinct. Of course it will return. We are hard-wired for it. Ya doesn't want to *cure* it. Ya wants to train its value in the danger alert without letting it slop into the negative effects of hyper-vigilance. It be a question of balance. Those breathing exercises are designed to keep your anxiety functional. There is no cure for the common me.
How many dangers are built in to the dating rituals? The possibility that a good-looking prospect hides a sociopath that can fool anybody for long enough to get them into a vulnerable position. Still. . . Your perfect mate is out there and you want to be open to those potentials, as well. Again, the question of balance: being on-guard enough to spot a bad apple, but open enough to be inviting to a good apple. Listen to the anxiety far enough for evaluation, but open enough to embrace a heart that is true, should you be lucky enough to have found one.
So opineth the Arf. . . I will not be offended if you didn't understand a word of that. I am often hard to understand. Just offering up the opine as food for thought, should you care to receive it.
Welcome aboard.
