General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Having anxiety really stinks!!! Today my anxiety went through the roof due to worrying. I already stay anxious feeling most of the time anyhow but while I was on Facebook I get this message from my daughter saying that she needs prayers sent her way as she was at the doctor's office. I started shaking and could barely type. I typed her back and asked what she was at the doctor's for and she told me that she had just bee diagnosed as having shingles (she is only27) and that the shingles was in her eyes and they needed to get her to an eye doctor ASAP or she could possibly lose her eye sight in that eye completely. They ended up getting her an appt. at 3:30 so I had to sit and wait and pace and be sick to my stomach with worry waiting to hear how her eye appt. went. Thankfully prayers worked as she was told her eye should clear up just fine as long as she makes sure she take the meds on time everyday. Now I worry about the pain she will be having to go trough with shingles. The pain is horrible from what I hear. The doctor gave her Vicodin but pharmacist told her that it would only ease the pain a little for her. I am still a wreck. I worry that the pain will be too much for her to handle - she has 2 little girls, one is in school during the day but the youngest is 2 and wild. My daughter also attends college so I'm worried how all of this pain she is feeling now is going to be really tough on her and there is nothing I can do t help her. I'm going to be feeling anxious now until I know she is all better.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...

The best thing you can do is let this go, your daughter is doing everything she must do to let the shingles heal.
I had shingles in the eye, the nose, the ear, the mouth, and one of the first things I had to do was keep the stress minimal. That meant a change in the daily living activity schedule to do relaxation exercises - which naturally relieve the pain from stressed nerve endings.
Taking the medicine is important, taking time to relax is just as important. You can keep to your schedule with built in relax thirty second moments, and heal fine.
The pain. The pain is present, and distraction is the best way to get through it. She will be fine.
You can help by letting this go. The best thing you can do is be relaxed. She's doing everything right, so support her by taking care of yourself.
You are not alone in this!
Far less selfless. And in some ways that is because I trust other people more, and also because I feel less responsible. I must have thought I was God, the level of responsibility I thought I had. It was for me to make everyone's life go right.
Terrible pressure. The reality is, that at 27 she's well old enough to survive and will be absolutely fine. It will be very good for her to go through this, not specifically singles, but some kind of adversity. It's really good for families: brings husbands and wives together, makes children mature really fast as they realise they have to care for mummy.
All in all it will be a good thing, and if Mideyebrow is right, it will teach her to live her life in a more relaxed way, too.
Take care. Is there something you can do to distract yourself? Any hobby that absolutely absorbs you? :)
