Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

way back when i was living the retired life with no students or children in my daily life, i noticed myself and most of the fellow geezers in my life responding to the academic schedule as if the principal was standing by to whack their nuckles for forgetting their sack lunches. yes, friends, i am old enough to have attended schools where corporal punishment was the norm and the lunch ladies serving up school made lunches had yet to arrive on the scene.
this year marks the 3rd end of school week since i was called out of retirement. these days i am typically the only senior citizen at the party and virtually all the adults i interact with are as involved with children/students as i am. so far, it is the children bringing us together in the first place. am i remembering right? does the adult-only world gyrate as helplessly to the academic calendar as kid world? after all, that academic calendar was one of the most intensive conditioning tools in our developing years.
thoughts? opines? hot links? unsolicited advice?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Here's to you doing it successfully and with awareness.
i find myself wondering if the adult only world "doesn't feel" their academic conditioning in the similar sense that i "didn't feel" my child prostitute conditioning while a was nurturing amnesia.
just wondering. . . theorating. . .
at the end of the day, it don't much matter.
it's only been a bet less 4 years since i was forced to abandon that adult only world. i missed it at first, but am not too sure i miss it any more. for sure, it's kinda hard to believe i'm still on that planet. the two worlds are vastly different.
a recurring theme i've noted without the experience to understand by is of adult trauma victims who have clear and present images of themselves before trauma and after trauma. i have such images for pre and post therapy, but those images represent far more improvement than falls from grace. nobody but god loved the pre-therapy me. this morning finds me wondering if i have my first up close and personal insight to the impact of having a before and after trauma image. am i even the same woman who thought there might be merit to arcane theories such as academic conditioning?
i miss retired life and being a REAL grandma. some days it is extra challenging to see the blessings in this demotion to, "mom."
