I took the two of them for a couple of years, and they were wonderful at sorting out the depression and the GAD. Just tremendous. I tapered off them both at the same time over this last year, and am now drug free.
the quetiapine did give me heart thumping or 'palpitations' - but palpitations are only when you are aware of your heart, not when it's doing anything odd. I thought it was the buproprion at the time to be honest - but I was getting so much benefit I didn't want anything to change.
Quetiapine is only used as an antipsychotic in huge doses; in tiny 25 or 50mg doses it's used as a sedative and I'd expect any nurse to know that.
Sorry salvatop, I didn't want to worry you. I was hoping I had posted that late enough that you had already taken it and gone to bed. When you do try it, just remember that if you have any bad side effects it will pass by the morning.

Sleep is vital to survival. You have to sleep. Quetiapine is mild and gentle and always works. Other sleeping pills are addictive and stop working incredibly fast. You are being offered a good solution. What about trying it for a month?
I absolutely love this medication, people complain it makes you like a zombie which it does but I like that feeling, it's better than having explosive moods all the time. It keeps me calm, I can sleep, couldn't ask for more, for myself.
