Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
It sounds like a job change would be a good idea for you as your heart doesn,t need the stress.
Take care!
By nature I am an analysist. I weigh all the options and try to calculate everything. I wasn't this way until the last few years. It was like this came out of no where and just dropped right into my lap.
This sucks.
God bless and good luck.
it is important to know that you are not alone out there and that what you are going through is an illness just like any other. you have gone through tough times and your line of work is also quite stressful. it all builds up and reaches its climax and then you are hit with anxiety, panic, depressiona and all of the physical smymptoms which accompany these disorders. get help. see a neurologist, get proper medication which can help and see a therapist...check out all of the info on the net and implement strategies which can work for you....wish you all the best
One of my specialities is that I do crash reconstruction. I have worked fatal crashes and delt with death. Although it is not a regular thing to deal with this, it has still let me see horrible human tragities. I have had to make death notifications and other types of things.
I am not sure if this lead to me developing anxiety. I have read that it also can be genetic and I think that it might run in my family too though they are not diagnosed with it.
Any which way, these events that have been going on in my life have really made it get worse. Last night I was lucky to get 4 hours of sleep and my blood pressure is still really high. This afternoon it was 179/117. Going back to the doctor tomorrow to get put out of work for a while so I can find another job.
I once watched a guy die. He had shot himself in the head with a small caliber pistol. He was still breathing when we got on scene (hell, there was still a pink mist in the air when we got on scene). I will never forget that day.
The thing that sucks for me in my job right now is that I go out there and bust my butt and try to do the best job possible. Then they find some stupid little thing that they don't agree with what you did and they try to put you on a cross. I am sick of that environment. I have seen this happen to so many good officers. It is sad to see where supervision in law enforcement has gone in these modern times. Law Enforcement is so cutthroat and no one is supported anymore. When they are tired of you they hang you out to dry.
We live in a crazy world. It is no wonder most of us are having anxiety-stress-depression-emotional issues.
I just don't see the benefits behind it anymore. I go out there on the streets and risk my ass to keep the people safe while there are people in the back office nit picking every decision I make and adding more unwanted stress in my life. The job wouldn't be so bad if the back office didn't give me such problems. Oh well, as politics go when they figure out that they want to make your life a living hell they can sure do a good job of it!
