Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I never learned how to control my mind, one negative thought or feeling led on to another and another, before i knew it i had got myself in to a right state. the worst i got was when I felt anxious and thought oh god Im gonna die, beofre I knew it I was having a full blown panic attack and i tried to jump out of the car while my partner was driving. i could have killed myself!
I started doing meditation 5 weeks ago, I manage 20 minutes a day every day at the moment. My partner is a buddist so it was his advice I took. he had bipolar and manic deprssion but hasnt had an episode of it for 2 years! they told him he would be on meds forever but he takes nothing. I have learned so much from him
I sit in a QUIET ROOM AND SIT CROSSED LEG WITH MY BACK STRAIGHT and just watch my breathing, I breathe to my stomach because with anxiety you tend to breath shallow and that in turn causes dizzy spells etc. then i sit and watch my thoughts and label them, like that thought was positive or negative etc. then thing you learn doing this is to sit and just observe your mind, the thoughts come fast and can be happy, scary, neutral etc but you learn not to attach any emotion to them. just observe the thoughts and let them pass, a bit like watching tv.
Im not saying it works stright away, i am only just learning now to get into it but i believe that long term i can eradicate the negative thoughts that lead me down hill.
Today my partner went out and i thought 'im going to be alone' and i started stressing then I stopped myself by saying /' but that fine because now I can do some painting' . the anxiety left me within minutes and I feel fine.
never give up trying because it is curable. our minds are very powerful and can be used to destroy us or help us. we spend our lives looking at our bodies but rarely delve into the mind to self analyse and work out how to retrain our thinking.
we have spent our lives thinking the worse and then the worse happens because in a sense we set ourselves up for a fall. I used to think what if all the time but Im trying not to worry about things.
I dont take meds anymore just eat healthily and try to relax. its hard but I can do it. I am changing my thoughts, as soon as I realise I am thinking negative I distract myself. Its a long journey but one I will get through
all the best to you. i know you can do it
also I had terrible insomia this year and the same pain you have etc and discovered I had h pylori . maybe a check up with the doc might put your mind at rest x
Trust me. I get myself pretty worked up.
Iv had pains like this for 34 years and I ant died yet so it's not your heart. Anxiety brings on a multitude of aches and pains
Sometimes I get a stabbing pain in my upper chest that nearly floors me but over the years I have learnt what it is, so now I stretch , bend and move to try and get rid.
Hope this helps
