Hi all, I'm back again, this time with my mothers blood results. I don't understand them one bit. so If you could help I'd be much appreciated.
Lupus Anticoagulant:
APTT 1:1 mis 30.6 secs
Dilute Russell Viper Venom - Negative
Comments: No evidence to suggest Lupus Anti coagulant.
VWD:
Factor VIII 85%
VW Factor Antigen 97%
Ristocetin COF: VWF Ag Ratio: 0.9
Ristocetin CoF:vWF Ag Ratio: 0.9
Comments: Normal results, however if personal or family history then repeat should be done, as can be affected by stimuli.
Factor V Leiden Mutation - None
Immunology Cardioplipin Antibodies:
Cardiolipin IgG (EIA) Negative
Cardiolipin IgM Negative
Comments: Negative, a proportion of patients with the antiphosphilipid syndrome are negative for anti cardiolipin anti bodies. Further testing for Lupus Anticoagulant and beta2-glycoprotein 1 antibodies is recommended.
Thrombophilia profile:
Protein C 117% (69-140).
Ok.. any idea? I'm lost.... what I can some what gather is her Protein C is high? and they are suggesting re-testing for antiphospholipid?
Does anyone understand this??

Has a complete lupus panel been done? This would include the CRP, sed rate, C3 C4, ANA, DSDNA, plus some others. Lupus and APS can mimic in symptoms so these tests should be done by a rheumatologist. A GP can run the tests also as long as they know all the proper ones to give. It can be so frustrating trying to figure out whats going on but dont give up until all the proper and needed blood tests are done.
Also, not sure if you are aware of this but has Lyme disease been checked? This virus can mimic aps/lupus to a T symptom wise and can even trigger APS if left untreated. You may want to make sure this test has been done. It is treated totally different then APS/Lupus and none of the meds used for these diseases will help get rid of Lyme disease.

She had a lot of problems with her pregnanacies also..and I guess the person doing the blood studies knew this and is why he/she suggested the Lupus be looked into further along with the APS tests you have mentioned the Beta 2. All that was on the sheets I put up there minus the lengthy comments I just put in the needed parts of them. So in RE: to that no I don't think the full panel of lupus has been done. My mother is 57 this month so if this has been her issue it has been for awhile..since she was starting to try for children, around age 26/27.
