My ex let our miniature collie out to get some fresh air since it was a nice day. My neighbor was going for a walk and when he walked by my house the collie went after him and bit his leg since we couldn't get to the dog quick enough. It wasn't a bad bite but it did break the skin in two places.
Ex told him the dog has had all his shots but suggested he see a doctor in case he needed a tetanas shot. I wish she didn't say that but he went to the dr and they didn't do anything but suggested he call the police. I have no clue what will happen next but I went to the guys house and offered him money but he declined saying he is a dog lover too who won't press charges. I am worried about what the animal control officer will do.
It's not really my dog but since I live with him, I help take care of him so I kinda feel partly responsible but I should have know better then to allow him to be outside without a leash.
Hard lesson learned because it won't happen again.

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
I had to provide proof that the dog had his shots and the neighbor is only making us pay for his tetanus shot he got at the doctors office. He said he isn't going to sue because he is an animal lover himself and realizes it was an accident. Overall he was pretty decent about the whole thing, maybe a little scared because it never happened to him before. I shared with him a story about how I got bit once when I was jogging down the road and such so he could identfy.
I figured I had better deal with the problem immediately before it had a chance to fester so I made several trips to his house to see how he was doing and always offered financial help which he always declined.
So serious situation averted and difficult lesson learned.

Yes, if I had it to do all over again, I would have had the dog on a leash.
Well, My neighbor brought me over a doctor bill for $246 which surprised me. He said they gave him a tetanus shot. So anyway, I wasn't about to question it since it was my fault to begin with but I felt like my kind heart was being taken advantage of. So I told him to give me a couple of days to get the money and he agreed.
I got thinking and wondered if my homeowners liability would pay it so I gave them a call. I figured there must be a deductable so high that I will end up paying it nonetheless but it turns out, they will take care of everything for me! I just looked up at the sky and said, "Thankyou Jesus!"
