Anger Management Support Group
Anger management commonly refers to therapeutic techniques by which someone with excessive or uncontrollable anger can control or reduce their emotions. Typical examples include the use of deep breathing and meditation as a means to relaxation. Psychologists recommend a balanced approach, which both controls the emotion and allows it to express itself in a healthy way.
What sort of solutions were offered by the anger management? And what about medical help? For me, it comes back to my thoughts. What I am telling myself is what is behind my feelings.
Even though I am not sure we could or should try to control our feelings, we can control our thoughts and behavior. You can feel angry without throwing something. And at least for me, when I figure out what I am telling myself that is fueling the anger, it is often negative thoughts and they may not even be true.

Your parents need to step up and do what they are supposed to do: protect themselves first and stop you. It won't be easy, but if they don't do something, it may end up costing them everything.
If you're 18 or over, they should show you the door and call the police. If you're under 18, they should call the police.
People are never really out-of-control, unless they are extremely drunk or on drugs - even some prescriptions make you dangerous to yourself or others - for some reason, people take them anyway.
People behaving in an out-of-control manner choose to act
this way. If you feel powerless over your outbursts, get therapy. Be sure to tell the therapist everything. If the therapist isn't good at his job, or isn't the right therapist for you, find someone else.. Something caused all the rage, and it isn't going to just
dissapear. The longer we wait to fix a problem, the more we suffer or cause people around us suffer.
I hope that you can turn things around, take control of your emotions and actions, and move your life to a good place.
I like to read alot, expecially self help books and ways to stretch a dollar. One of my favorite books that my psychologist boss would recommend to her clients is "Forgive for Good" by Dr. Fred Luskins. You can order it on Amazon.com or get it from your library.
Anyway, it deal across the board with all the garbage that gets dumped on us. The title is alittle deceiving. The main subject is Forgive for oneself, but we do not ever have to condone or have contact ever again with the garbage dumpers.
Another good read is "Don't Let Jerks Get The Best of You" by Paul Meier, M.D. This one is an oldie. It may be be available at Amazon though.
Anyway, don't give up. We "angry" people have to work on this every day.
By the way, I see you're involved in politics. Given the current state of the nation, I can understand why you would be angry. Politics make me mad as hell.
Good Luck and Best Wishes!!!!!
Thank you for sharing a rather-sensitive issue. I find that what works for me, is to write down the stuff that make you angry. Just a simple honest list, and then read it a day or so later. Then ask yourself why those things make you angry. It may or may not work for you, but i find that when i read my list in a day or so, some of the stuff doesn't piss me off like i thought so when i was in a rage. When the anger is directed at a person, always try to step back and walk away. Just try, i know it's not easy. It avoids alot of unnecessary consequences and gives you time to cool off.
Also, perhaps most importantly, share...keep writing and we are all here for you!
