Anger Management Support Group
Anger management commonly refers to therapeutic techniques by which someone with excessive or uncontrollable anger can control or reduce their emotions. Typical examples include the use of deep breathing and meditation as a means to relaxation. Psychologists recommend a balanced approach, which both controls the emotion and allows it to express itself in a healthy way.
shit, I dont know what would help me.
Maybe if youre a bit fucked up it can help but if you truly hate yourself it wont help.
One of the biggest shocks of my life came in reading Gal 5:20-21. I did NOT know that outbursts of anger was even a sin, let alone up there with witchcraft idolatry and all kinds of evil. I am bipolar, and anger is one of the symptoms of the disease. It is an easy excuse, but not one God is going to accept. He really wants me to "manage" my anger and respond in love. Learning gradually.
You seem quite happy with your new discovery, but when you realize that "me"isn't enough, please write me, and I can tell you why I depend totally on God, and I am changing into a person with "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." Gal. 5:22-23
Not to offend you because everyone has their own opinions and I respect you for yours, but, how can you blame a book for the choices you made?? Think about the other factors that played in those decisions you made for yourself. I sincerely think you should sit down and read it again now that youre in a more peaceful and happy awareness of yourself. It sounds like you did exactly what the book did which is engorge yourself in an empty unhappy life only to later find yourself and true happiness down the line.
You did exactly what the character in the book did. Then, because you followed what the book did, and didnt get the message the book gave, you blamed the book for your unhappiness??
Again, not to offend you and just raising some awareness, but I didnt get that from reading this book. And I dont believe you need REAL characters with REAL problems in a book for it to teach you something valuable. Thanks for commenting though! I really appreciate you reading my post and having the time to respond. I hope no offense is taken and that you have a grand day =)
For me, the changes Christ have brought are both inner and outer, because I realize I can't make it on my own. What enourages me is often someone else noticing I have changed - like my family. It is Christ who strengthens me. i am well past the age when I rely on myself or my own emotions! I have been round the block with therapists, pdocs, and explored every religion and agnostism in the world. Only Jesus works for me.
It has been a long journey and process - but He is transforming me into the kind of person I want to be - His child, yet strong. So I apologize for reacting to my past memories, and hope you will find your way through all this to the living Savior, when this does not work.
