This is the time of year for zipper legs at Wal-mart. They start getting them in about now and they stay around most of the summer, but I have notice that the sizes 38" waist and up are hard to find but you just have to keep trying back. Some sports places have them but they are 3 times more money the Wal-mart.

Hi Dennis - I have thought about this zipper thing many times. I did discuss it with a gal who did our dry cleaning and she said she could do it and just suggested I buy the zipper length and color (e.g., the shade of the blue jean as an example and she would sew it in. They have "industrial strength" sewing machines at many of these places as they often do alterations for folks. A good seamstress would rip out the inner seam and then artfully include the zipper so that it would barely be visible and who cares. What Jay is talking about I have seen on the golf course and that is zip off pants that turn into shorts. I didn't think that was what you meant. Bottom line, find a seamstress and get them the supplies or have them buy them and give it a try on a worn pair of jeans. You got nothing ot lose but a few bucks for their time.

Yes that is what I was talking about right down the inseam I have a pair of the pants that turns into shorts that I use in the winter when I go and see my leg guy they work good for that. But its not blue jeans its more of causal dress pants. I did look on the internet but nothing so I was thinking as you where John or using my Mother in-law sewing mechine and do it my self on a old pair. I just think it would be cool to be able to make adjustment or what ever just unzip the leg and there it is and when your done zip it up. No more pulling pants down to make the adjustment cool.

Hi Dennis: Iam a great e bayer buy everthing on e bay from my cars to stump shrinkes even a complete leg for 26 bucks. but i was looking one day and found a lady if u send her yout pants, jeans dhe seems to like best, she would go to walmarts buy jeans and rip inseam out and put valcrow on and it seemed to work very good i think it would be easier and cheaper than a zipper.. for what is worh :: old Joe

I used vel-crow but made mistake in doing inside seem should have done outside seem as crotch never seems to stay shut

Every pair of long pants I own has an 18-inch "invisible" zipper in the left inseam. A local tailor charges me $12 to put them in, and they make life so much easier.
