Amputees Support Group
Amputation is the removal of a body extremity by trauma or surgery. Many have undergone amputation or have been living with a missing limb since birth. In either case, life as an amputee can be challenging. This is the place to find others going through the same experiences as an amputee. Share your thoughts, troubles, and solutions with the community.
On the surface it sounds like you have not had any gait training, services, generally offered by physical therapists. Part of a good training program is learning how to fall. Choose your therapist very carefully, assuring yourself that the person has performed extensive work with AK amps. A therapist without experience working with an amp is probably not worth the money. Your leg man ought to be able to refer you to a therapist. You will need a doctors RX to proceed further.

Trust is earned ....go work with your leg...
Let your leg earn that trust...until You can trust it...you will be held back from all that you can do...I dont have ak....but same principal still applies...Go push your leg...when your ready for a fall......use say a grass lawn....or use crutchs...so if it gives out your ready for it...test it....make it earn its keep...then when your some where...where u need to trust your leg...you will be able too...
Good luck...
