For the last few days my stump fells like its on fire all the time(burning sesations),.I dant know if it was from the fall i had last week or from the infection in my other leg .Does anyone else have this feeling if so how did you stpop the feeling and pain (its not phatom pains)thankyou for any advice and hope you have a good day thanks

Have you talked to your doctor about this?How long ago was your amputation? I would call your doctor or prosthesis to see what they have to say.

My husbands Ortho Dr. said that a lot of the pain and sensations he feels in his stump will or should decrease when he can wear his prosthetic regularly.

We were told any feeling that is different, hot, sore in new areas should be discussed with the doctor.

I don't mean to cause alarm but infections are very real and serious. I have had a could myself. You should talk to your doctor. Does the area that feels like it is on fire also feel like it is warm to touch with your hand? I know when we go through procedures we really do like, we tend to put off what we know we ought to take care of because we are afraid of what a doctor might say or because we remember what happened and don't want to repeat it. I am going through a similar, though not as serious, situation myself. I put off going to a dentist for a few years. Now, after losing 4 teeth and having 2 root canals I am fighting to keep what I have. I still have a few appointments left and have been in the dentists chair 3 or 4 times a month in the last 2 months. If I would have taken care of what I needed to take care of a long time ago I would not be going through this now. I hope you are well soon

The burning pain could be caused from your fall but I would recommend seeing your doctor to rule out the possibility of infection.
