I bought a left footed gas peddle from LEFT FOOTED GAS PEDDLE out of Fort Wayne, Indiana the peddle is 11 inches by 11 inches square weighs 15 pounds.I installed it in a 2002 GMC sierra 1500HD 4 door pick up truck.On the bottom of the plate there was a plastic piece with 1/4 inch cleats attached to the back of the plate the 15 pounds was not heavy enough to firmly hold the cleats into the carpet I ended up drilling 4 holes in the plate through the floor of my truck to hold it in place.I had to cut an add 3 inches of bar stock to the rod going to the gas peddle because peddle was too close to brake resulting in a dangerous power braking condition.I added a 2 inch piece of rubber to the gas peddle as they where at the same height. The cost of this peddle was $399.00 before shipping.It cost maybe $100.00 to make this contraption an they put a price tag of $400.00 clearly taking advantage of Amputees BUYER BEWEAR.

I got one at Performance Mobility in Portland, OR in 2008. It is very heavy duty, bolted thru the floor, installed by professionals. I have over 175,000 miles on it now and have never had a problem. JUST UNDER $400. It has a sturdy quick release that removes the floor piece from the locked frame to make it easy to snap in and out so my wife can drive. I strongly recommend it. The retraining curve is tricky so use with caution.

I have the same PLFA and it works great for me.I use it between both my cars.While it is not perfect,it works for me.I did put a piece of rubber over the top surface so the anti skid strips did not eat up my heel. Other than that, I am pretty happy with it.

PAPERTRUCKER: this is slightly off topic, but my pull sleeves I use to pull myself into the socket of my leg cost $50 last time I was billed for one. I found fairly similar material (not quite as good of material, but good enough) and had a friend make me 2 of them - $1.50 each -as a yard of material cost $3.00 and I got 2 sleeves out of a yard. Yup...Everything gets jacked up on price!!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
