Rollie has developed this weird habit of turning his cup upside down, he brings it to his mouth, sips and then he keeps pouring the glass as he pulls it away from his mouth, like maybe , he isn't sure how to turn it off? I don't know, but I now give him sippy cups but he even has trouble with them and with straws, they confuse him. He puts the straw or mouth piece in his mouth and then tilts his head back not realizing he has to suck on the straw. I would think that sucking through a straw is a very basic skill but he has trouble with it. He can still feed himself but VERY slowly and he only picks up tiny pieces at a time.

I guess that I continue to be fortunate. Janelle can no longer feed herself but takes spoons of food quite well from me and still eats well. She has become quite acustomed to drinking everything from a straw. I hope that these characteristics last for a while.
So sorry that you are not having a good experience in getting Rollie to accept food and drink very well. Try to hang in there.

Deb, Ron did that exact same thing with his drinking glass. He would often pour it down the front of him before getting it to his mouth... or would pick it up and just pour it on the table. I never really found a good substitute. He couldn't get the hang of sippy cups and chewed straws flat.
There is a lot of confusing and puzzling things at the end of this disease.
