Ok, first 24 hours down.... I dropped him off and it was tough to look back and see his face, he looked so frail and I cried. I have talked with the staff since then and they say he is doing ok, he wanders around the ward quietly, following them and sitting quietly with them. I talked with him, I believe he recognized my voice. He did not sound frantic, just quiet and mumbled like normal.
I had a nice visit with a coupe of friends, the ones that drove with me to the facility.
Today I am going to have dinner with 3 old friends from high school, tomorrow lunch with another friend and then Friday will be my grandson's birthday party.
I must admit it feels so nice to move freely about.

I had four hours respite today and hit Bed, Bath & Beyond, AC Moore, the library and got Spa manicure with a gift card the kids got me for Mother's Day.. I feel like a new woman. Forgot, I also checked out a new respite facility near me for when we meet in September......$335.00 a day for a semi-private room. Have to check out a few more places. I am counting the days till September.
