I've seen women in Memory Care holding baby dolls. Maybe he does need a security "thing"

I am new to this site. My friend's husband had Alzheimer's. He passed away two years ago. I am a nurse. I used to work in a nursing home. The Alzheimer's residents were my favourites.
I am really interested in what you have to say and would like to help if I could.
Some things Alzheimer's patients do are odd, but as long as it does not seem distressing to that person, I wouldn't worry about it.
We can barely figure out why people with all of their faculties do what they do.

I agree he is having a hallucination of some sort....a stuffed animal might be a good idea.

I think our hubbys may be in about the same stage. My husband has started moving everything around.

Like he will be sitting on the couch and all of a sudden he will move forward abruptly and start rearranging things on the coffee table , or even just touching them all.He has become very antsy and doesn't sit still. Gets up walks over to another spot , turns around and comes back and sits down. Drastic changes all of a sudden, every day noticeably worse...there are no plateaus anymore. Speech went from 60% to 90% gone in a flash, asphasia taken over.

Everything is failing , yet he is still mobile. Shaky and weak but still walks around.

That's Rollie, still mobile but shaky and wobbly, it stresses me so much because he won't sit still and so I am always on the alert for him falling!
