Do not feel guilty about your decision....I know how hard it is .
My sister and I recently moved our Mom from Assisted Living, to a Skilled Nursing Home...oh YES, it was a hard decision, and Mom screamed at us when we were leaving. It was very painful moment .
But since Mom has been in SNH, she has improved physically , sadly, her memory is still declining ...but ultimately , we know we made the right decision, as Mom is getting better care
This year my dad had to go into a nursing home. It was very hard and he struggled with the loss of independence. However, he is doing much better now. I feel better knowing he is in the place he needs to be, even if he doesn't want to be....it's still hard, but at least I know he is safe and being cared for, I don't worry as much about him as when he was living on his own or staying with my brother.
