It is 11 here and I am wide awake, Rollie is sleeping soundly. This evening. For the past 8 years my neighbor has been disputing our property line. I even had an attorney check it for me and my neighbor is wrong. Anyway, tonight he started yelling at me about it. I suspect a certain amount of alcohol was involved. I was in our driveway cleaning out one of our cars. He came barreling into our driveway telling me I better get a good lawyer because he is going to take me to court about it. I admit I yelled back. Anyway Rollie came to my aid and he stood in front of Jack A. and put his finger on his chest and was mumbling to him. I believe Rollie was trying to tell Jack to leave me alone. Naturally. WELL, Jack A. placed both hands on Rollie's chest and shoved him to the ground! YES! Rollie was laying on his back flat on the driveway.
I couldn't believe it! I was shocked and yet shocked doesn't even seem to describe my feelings at that moment. It rocked my world to the core. I mean really has me shaken in such a profound way I can't find adequate words to convey how deeply this action has affected me. It is really too much.
I certainly called the sheriff and they came out. I am filing assault charges against Jack A. The sheriff advised to get a restraining order. He advised me. I thought that was interesting. Tomorrow I will be doing that.

Well over the past 10 years it has been miserable. They have called the police making false claims and have threatened to burn down our house.
Please get that restraining order today. And make sure you follow through on the assault charges. Hopefully that will wake this guy up and make him realize he is out of control. But also be prepared because crazy people do crazy things.

A suggestion - if he is so darned sure about the property line tell him to have it surveyed and it will be settled once and for all.
Years ago we had a back yard neighbor who wasn't convinced our
property line was right. We told her we didn't care one way or the other and if she wanted it surveyed ( at her expense) we were fine with it. Ended up she lost several feet of her side yard. Just gave us more to mow..
I keep thinking, how could a person be so hurtful... I know, the world has cruel people in it, I just hate when I have to see it.

I would get a survey and then they will put a stake in your lawn showing boundaries...and that is that. Surveys don't lie. I used to sell Real Estate and this type thing came up often and a survey ends it with cold hard fact. BUT........no matter where the line is I have a feeling this man is what he is and is just a complete uncaring, thoughtless idiot.
I hope Rollie didn't hurt himself...poor guy must have been so upset!!!! It takes all kinds doesn't it?

In reality the attorney who filed the charges should have been censured by the courts for bringing a frivolous lawsuit. But the insurance company is only looking at their bottom line and it was cheaper to settle than to pay a trial lawyer to get the suit thrown out. You insurance also won't pay for a counter suit if you are sued.
I was thinking about this all morning and wondering if this man is aware that Rollie has advanced dementia? The man sounds like an idiot but even idiots usually respect people with health problems.
Sue the pants off the man. And I hope the judge does all the law allows.
What comes around goes around, I would love to be a fly on the wall when his punishment is given......oooooo weeeeeee I hope he gets his mouth handed to him on a silver platter!!!
hope rollie and you are ok now...hope that guys has someone just like him do to him what he did to rollie and you...that is my wish......
If this thing goes to court Deb you should make sure Rollie goes to court with you. It would be important for a judge to see how fragile and harmless he is in case this big bully claims Rollie started things.
