I know it is probably totally wrong but sometimes I get the feeling they just somehow KNOW when we are not 100% available to them and the stuff that rolls out, well....

Maybe you need someone to come in to help you for a couple of days?

Would the PCP authorize some in-home help like the Visiting Nurse so you could breathe easier?

my worker comes tomorrow and I'll see how it goes tomorrow, if I have to I may have to just pay her myself for an extra day.

Gosh Deb it would be great relax and rest for a few days with your ankle elevated but we all know that won't be happening. Caregivers manage to take care of everyone but themselves......hopefully your hubby will give you a break for a few days. Will keep you close in my thoughts and prayers....

I had something like that last week.
I picked up some kind of flu bug .I did not want Ken getting but, he had to be with me. I put him at the bottom of the sofa and put my feet on his lap. Thought this would work when I would sleep.I was so worried he might start wandering.
I told him he needed to help me today and even ask for a foot rub, just to keep him busy.

I lucked out he napped off and on through out the day. So far he hasn't showed any signs of the bug.

Doc appointment Monday, he upped his mg. on his risperidone andalprazolam. He will not stop pulling on his cloths and has started becoming a little mean, stills sobs that he is doing something wrong and some guy is mad at him. Poor thing.
He also has a UT infection.

His first day of day care went pretty good. I only had him in for half a day this time just to see how he does.

Laughing sems to work better for me.

Meet me in St. George, Utah. I have a free condo for a few days. I will be there from Saturday to Monday evening alone.

Oh my gosh Sharon......if I could click my heels or twitch my nose and be there I would do so. A couple of days off would do wonders to renew my heart and soul. But since that can't happen, I will be enjoying your trip in spirit. Enjoy that time and make it really special for YOU.......Jeanmarie

Glenda - hope the bug is better. I had one a month ago.. felt awful and was kind of irritated with everything else I had to do.

I agree...try to find some help for respite, it's so important. Today my sister and I switched shifts....I took morning and she took afternoon, and a third sister was taking supper and the evening till bedtime....well this threw Dad into a complete tizzy and he go so angry, he was swearing and pounding around....my sister called and is like, what should I do? I told her to stay calm and wait it out, it would run it's course. And it did, but these things are hard. He cannot tolerate change.

Way to go Deb, that condo sounds pretty darn good and St George, it is so pretty there.

Next week I am closing our cabin for the winter.Ken's daughter is coming in from NC in to take care of Ken.

It only take a day to close the place up but I am taking 6 long wonderful days to fish, read and just relax. Shelly does so good with him it will allow me not to worry and just enjoy the week.
