Today was ok until he thought that our son was my husband and now he won't stop with the 'someone is going to kill me" thing. He thinks that my son is my jealous husband and on and on........
oops, while I was writing this a neighbor came by, he is VN vet with PTSD like my husband but no dementia just came by and talked with and hugged Rollie (brother to brother as only to veterans can be). Brought tears to my eyes that these 2 men have suffered so much.

one split second I/we/everything is 'fine'. next it's disaster....
I am sorry and sad for you.this is such s sad turn...will the doc give him something for the paranoia?
The neighbor story is sad and lovely at the same time...goes right down to your toes....

The next day we were at church and he saw her come in and he turned to me with a big smile and said "Sherri's here!" Of course I am Sherri............BUT ..I think I may have figured out that since he really lives more in the past perhaps he see's my daughter (who looks much like I did) as me and he doesn't recognize me half the time since I am 67 now and of course look older!!
He also told me last week that I reminded him of his wife, and he didn't know where she had gone.
I think he remembers me better as I was not as I am. Interesting that could be the case with many of us when our spouse doesn't recognize us.
