late stage 6 of 7... apparently that means 1 to 3 years left... I hope my mom can make it that long...

Rollie is getting worse. my mom told me today that Rollie is starting to signs of being in the late stages of stage 6 in Alzheimer's and there's only 7 stages. and I guess my mom said that at his point in the illness he only has 1 to 3 years

have you read about the stage 7 stuff, I hope for both of them that he doesn't make it to the end of stage 7

worry about us.
When Ron started losing words ( a couple + years ago) he still talked a lot... only less words. Then just every few weeks he would lose more words.. did a lot of himming and hawing) then one by one
more words left. Last August he stopped saying my name, but still had 5 or 6 words left. About 2 months ago he stopped talking completely.
I can't remember when I decided and Dr confirmed he was in the end stage... but it seems a long time.
I have taken care of stage seven in nursing homes and I do pray that Neal dies from something else, those tia's he keeps having, before he ever reaches that stage or maybe it is just in the younger people who were still so physicaly healthy before developing the AD that it seems to horrible, older patients I've cared for seem to drift off more easily at the end but as has been mentioned everyone is so different there are no hard and fast rules except it seems the one saying it's all down hill and it's all fatal.
