I try not to post too much about this because I don't want to sound like a broken record but I really must vent....
sooooo, I went to my PEO meeting and before I left Rollie talked to his mom and sister. When he talks to his Mom I can't hear too much but when he talks to his sister I can hear what she says because she is so loud.....
She was telling him how they are coming 'real soon' to visit (which they have been saying for how many months?). That when the weather warms up they will come and get him and bring him there there so he can spend time with them and 'his kids' (these are the ones who haven't contacted him in 8 months). She also said a few little things here and there that I know are in reference to things I've told her, like 'you sound real good to me, your talking sooo good' because I had told her doesn't talk very good anymore. Little things like that.
The thing is, you know they are full of shit and I know they are full of shit but Rollie still believes them so every time he calls them I am the one that picks up the pieces from their broken promise and it hurts him and it hurts me too. That is the part I have a hard time with- their broken promises to him. I am the one that deals with their aftermath while they go along there merry drunken way.
I was so angry I was shaking and when I got to my meeting and when the first person asked me, "How's Rollie?" I burst into tears. I very RARELY cry in public! Of course my sisters there where caring and hugging me. One of the older ladies, she said, "sometimes you don't even know how you are feeling inside until something like this happens and it just comes gushing out." I just don't know how to protect myself from them. I try to minimize their contact but sometimes Rollie is so insistent on talking to his mom, it does him no good, he always feels bad after, but still he wants to talk to her.
What a sick bunch of people.

you could keep them from talking to each other.
Hopefully Rollie will forget their promises and you won't have to
worry about covering for them.
I'm sorry you had to go through this again. It is hard enough for us to keep "it" together without the interference from not so well
meaning family members.
Vent away... that is what we are here for.
Hey, if you can't come here and vent then where can you go? And no one here cares if you sound like a broken record, his family are creeps, reoccurring creeps that bomb through your life dropping packets of anxiety and dispair, vent away before your head explodes.
my mother who is now 85 and well into Alzheimer"s is a PEO, and has been one for a very long time.
she lives in Williamsburg, Va. not sure which chapter.
i thank the women there, in her PEO for their support.
and to all of you, here in D.S., who help me understand what is happening to my dear mother.
