I'm glad that this is a safe place to vent and get feed back I've been feeling very stressed and anxious lately and I think it's mostly because I have too much time on my hands. I'm not working and basically living on disability. It pays the bills and leaves me enough to do a little traveling but at gas prices not allot. I try to fill the time with hobbies and go to movies with my brother who is also om disability, we hang out and have lunch and talk and that takes care of one day. but the rest seem to go on forever. I need to do some volunteer work but the problem is I live out in the sticks and it's a long drive to go anywhere. The best thing would be to find a part time job. There are only two places near me that I could afford to drive to one is a superwallmart and a fry's food and drug and a few other miscellaneous stores like peter piper Pizza and a couple of hamburger joints like Mcdonalds and wendy's. I'm waiting to hear back from wallmart fingers crossed. I already applied at frys a long time ago and have pretty much given up hope on them.
I could go for the next nearest town which is about a forty minute drive away and if I was working I would be able to afford the gas. and possibly move to that location as it's a small town with lots of apartments available. I could easily live on my disability and what I would get working a full time job, but I can only do that for nine months according to social security and then I would have to go to a part time job making no more than a thousand dollars a month which I could still make it on. that is ultimitly is my goal but in the mean time I'm stuck here working on model planes and cruising DS and it's not very fulfilling.
So actually I'm at the point of weighting out my options and dragging my feet on making any substantive decisions and I'm sort of stuck. And that's not a good place to be for me right now.I guess I'm wondering what to do from here. I would apriciate any advice that you all might have, or an encouraging word or a kick in the pants to get going.
I'm having lunch with my pastor tomorow and I plan to run all this by him and see what he has to say. But I also trust and want to hear from my ds friends. I know I can't keep doing this for years which is what will happen if I don't make a move soon, I will go crazy, but even if I do get used to it I'm not sure that's a good thing, Sorry to ramble what do you think.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

I am house-bound this summer, and tho' I work part-time via e-mail and internet, it has still been a hard go, very isolating and empty at times. I volunteer online and that has been very fulfilling.
I am wishing you good luck and good vibes:-)
It's always a bit daunting to begin 'a new' you're looking forward to. I too am like that, I procrastinate, I drag my feet, all those scary feelings overwhelm me until I sabotage myself and feel unworthy, it seems I act only on pure desperation when time has run out or my options are low.
My advice to you would be to continue thinking of the great benefits and positive change it will bring to your life. Imagine you already working at those places, greeting customers, feeling good about yourself, find your sprits lifting and allow that feeling of fulfillment fill you up. That usually helps me get excited over and over again and helps me stay motivated. I'm actually on the same boat as you. I have been attempting to get back to work after having a yr and 1/2 off for maternity. My husband has been the sole breadwinner and we've been struggling to meet all our payments on time. I thank him endlessly for the wonderful gift he has given me of being able to stay home with our daughter until I am ready to put in her childcare, but I am still frightened of the unknown. I will miss my routines with her terribly and will have to rely on getting her to daycare via public transport until we have enough to get a second car. Not only that but we have to make money to make these things happen so first I have to find part time work ... and strive for full time work. Eeek I've only started a few days ago with my search but it already seems daunting.
I'm here if you ever need an extra positive boost... We can do it buddy, we just have to remind ourselves that we're deserving of succeeding and we'll be that much better off when we do.
GO FOR IT!!!!! :-D
To fill in the rest of your free time, consider doing volunteer work! I have found that the more you give, the more you receive because it all comes back to you eventually in some way shape or form. I consider myself a lucky person for the most part, I am self employed and haven't had to work at a real job for years now. If I had the extra work I would hire you.
God Bless!
