Your biggest fear?

I thought this might be interesting here? To hear What your biggest fear is now, and what your biggest fear was when you were drinking? I mean something you really feared? Like when I was drinking I really feared that I would end up in jail??? I feared the police...I was not a criminal though when drinking I never knew where it would take me....it scared me, stil haunts me...

Now, what I fear is that I will not amount to all that I should be and that I will not make my parent proud enough, even though I know those are not valid or true....the program is teaching me a lot, but it is not a cure all NOW...lol...

If you do not want to share I understand......Hope you all having a great night....mine is kind of emotional, but that is okay too :)

Fear of being alone was a biggie. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy my solitude but being alone 4 ever has always been my biggest fear. It's an abandonment issue thing I work on.

Cops really scare me too. Last year I went to jail for a DWI and I was terrified. I am still scared of cops even being sober now... I just don't trust them.

When drinking, I was afraid my body was rotting inside and out all of the time. I was afraid I would die a drunk.

Yeah, I agree about the fear of being alone forever..that has always been one of mine too...and I also struggle with the fear of abandonment....well learning that is what its called...lol...trusting is not an easy thing to JUST do...but I am getting better slowly.

When I drank my biggest fear was dying and having on my death certificate - death because of drugs and/or alcohol.

good question......i fear commitments for i will pass and leave loved ones to suffer.

that said......my daily goal is to make a stranger giggle.....it's a double smile.......i get to watch them smile and watch my work partner shake his head......LOL

however...it took 4 years, but i turned my work partner into a a dumpster dive.....LMAO.........he is more aggressive then me lol

i visit the salvage yard weekly.....they know me......i owe my buddy some cash tomorrow.



and don't get me going on my "police" encounters........:)

My sister lives in really nice neighborhood, and we ride down the road and look when it is junk pick up day....good stuff out there for garbage....lol...my coffe table is really pretty and something someone threw away :)

i still affectionately remember the days of my mom smacking me for digging through trash cans at museums........lol

Dying drunk. That was a big fear. What if you have to spend the rest of eternity drunk? Not a good thought!

When I was drinking my biggest fear was not being able to get more alcohol when I needed it. The fear of running out was a constant worry. Now my biggest fear is living my life without my husband of 25 yrs. He was killed in Jan. in a motorcycle accident and it's taking everything I've got just to get through the day. I thank God I'm sober though, or I wouldn't have been able to be here for our children. I sure hate the way I feel though...Amy

u've all touched on a lot of my fears but my biggest fear would be to relapse after i've put my life together ...this fear grows as i see those with far more years than me go back out..its truly frightens me but i just take it one day at a time forward.

Gosh-when I was drinking I was afraid of everything! I was afraid of not having enough booze to get me through the night, I was afraid of getting a DUI, I was afraid of someone smelling alcohol on me (I'm just now starting to not freak when someone gets close to me & I'm kissing people again! HA!), I was afraid of dying drunk & alone, I was afraid of not having the money to buy all the booze that I needed, I was afraid my electricity would be cut off cause I had spent all of my money on booze, I was afraid of loosing my job from calling in sick all the time, I was afraid to look people in the eye for fear they would "know!" The list could go on forever...

Now I want so much to enjoy a life of freedom that I believe is possible through the 12 steps that really the main thing that I'm afraid of is not "getting it". I'll take that!!!
