a young girl i know through work was murdered this week. I didnt know her very well but I worked with her on and off.
She was a beautiful vibrant bubbly 22 yr old who was tragically murdered by her boyfreind who also worked with her though i dont think i knew him.
As well as my grief for her and her family I also found myself thinking - that could have been me.
10yrs ago i dated someone from work it was abusive and many times i thought he is going to kill me. Eventually I left him, and he got fired for assaulting me. 10 years on and ii doint think the scars ever really healed.
To make matters worse, a month ago I walk into my old store (i now travel aroun a lot of stores) and there he was working there.
It brought alot of things back or me, but when i heard the sad news about this young girl i just couldnt help but think i had a lucky escape.
I think i have alot of mixed feelings right now.
But one of the things that stands with me is you just never know the moment life can be snatched away.

i know when people die i dont even know that well it upsts me a lot, but for her to die in such an awful way is so sad.

I'm very sorry to hear about your friend from work and your own experience in an abusive relationship. It is however all about sharing our experience strength and hope from today forward. I have a feeling you will help several other woman in your (their) future by sharing this with them. Just like it took drunks (and God) to get me sober (not shrinks). Having these experiences in your life will enable victims in abusive to confide in you and to listen to you and in turn strengthen them to heal.

So im not sure about the coincidence comment, but I am very sa for her poor family.
I found out that she had tried to break it off and had moved back to her mums, they think he was trying to talk her into trying again. :(
