Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Fabulous work!! Congratulations on getting through the first night there! So that makes it 3 weeks for you today, right?
Somone told me (in the context of quitting smoking, I think,) that it takes 3 weeks to psychologically either break or establish any habit. I don't know if that's true or not, but if it is, you are now officially IN THE HABIT OF NOT DRINKING ALCOHOL!!! Isn't that great??!!
I KNOW you can do this!! Keep it up!!!
I have tonight, wed, thur night and Im home on fri - so far its going great.
Tonight I found myself in the hotel supermarket and accidently in the alcohol section (as Ive never been there before) I panicked for one second then stared to the end of the aisle and fixed my eyes on something random and walked real fast until I got there and safe. :)
Im finding the site keeping me strong too, even though I havent posted much.
Thanks everyone for your support. And I agree, I would know if I cheated which is why I dont want too. I have wasted years lying to others but much longer lying to myself.
*hugs to all*
I go home today - 5 nights in hotel, bar at hand, restaurant and expense account and I DID IT!!!
Im so happy with myself for surviving. Now its day 25! :)
A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to you!!! I KNEW you could do it!!! I'm so proud of you!!
that may sound wierd but its true....I love to hear stories of success....you should be very proud of yourself:)
And I think I learned something new....I always need to have plan at my key times during the day when i want to drink or am used to grabing a drink (after work).....If I have a plan then I can change my routine.....
Thanks for sharing...you have been an inspiration
I am proud of myself.
