Well to be honest with you oneistoomany the American people have not been schooled properly. They took morality out of schools and replaced it with Hedonism! Everyone these days to some extent is wanting theirs to be better than yours! Simply taking out morality and reasoning to why morality is taught leaves us with cut throat capitalistic values. I hear you with this. Have you seen the movie Idiocracy? It’s actually happening and lately I’ve been realizing that the media is creating it all. The one two punch of the uncertainty from the pandemic and political instability with the concept of fake news so there’s nothing to trust is breeding a shit show of fear.
I went from really judging people caught up in the last presidency to having compassion for all of us because we’re in this horrible situation of feeling like we need to be right and the ‘other side’ is wrong.
Bill mentioned morality but that’s so subjective that the people breaking into the capital last year though they were doing it for their moral principles. What’s really at stake here is sanity or rational thinking itself.
Somehow we need to start thinking for ourselves again and find reliable sources of information. I don’t see this happening anytime soon unfortunately. And that is aggravating.
For my own piece of mind I am adopting a position of; I can’t know what is best

I get annoyed at people all the time and can let myself get all wrapped up in the drama and chaos, the self-righteousness and righteous indignation if I'm not careful. The ensuing adrenaline rush can be as intoxicating as booze! And I realize I am getting high on chaos and drama. So I step away from the bottle so to speak, realize my tizzie is counter-productive, that I have no control over others actions, find a bit of gratitude in the situation and go my merry way.

Good topic and I find myself dealing with my anger wanting to erupt everyday about someone or something going on. I’ve been using meditation, prayer and exercises to center myself, so I can better control the anger within, let those moments pass that used to cause an eruption. And it’s important not to dwell or feed on what angers you, let it go! Don’t let it consume you. When you do, this says more about your shortcoming than the thing you’re upset about. Anger is like a storm cloud, it too shall pass if you just give it time. I’m by no means a master of this, but I’m getting better every day. Good luck!

I agree. It's one of the reasons my husband and I are selling our ranch. We have no patience with the idiots we have to deal with. Retirement is very appealing.

Love what you wrote Bob, I don't focus on others, just myself - and don't feel anger towards others as that was the old me when I was drinking, I am not responsible for other people and if I find I do get annoyed at someone, that is not about them, it is about me & something I need to work on.
