Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I stumbled upon this infographic today and just want to share here.

I know this is very basic but why we still fell into alcohol's trap? I'm not going to have a pity party tonight but thinking if I just listen before, worse things won't happen to me, etc. Well, at least I am stronger today than I am before. I've learned so much in this journey. Please include me in your prayers. I've been alcoholic for 3 years. I decided to get sober last Nov 27 but I relapsed last Christmas Eve then I set the clock again last Dec 28. I'm so proud I made it today, my Day 11. Thank you so much for the support :) I feel very much welcome here.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

Are you working a program.
Bill W nailed this one back in 1935.
"Men and women drink essentially because they like the effect produced alcohol" AA pg xxviii
Bill continues to say "They are restless, irritable and discontented, unless they can again experience the sense of east and comfort which comes at once by taking a few drinks - drinks which they see others taking with impunity."
Disclaimer: AA is but one of many recovery programs available to the alcoholic. If you want to get and remain sober, find the program that works for you. AA has worked for me for 4205 days and counting.
Jeff - I'm in AA but not so regular because of my work schedule.
Texi - Thank you for the reminder and I'm so amazed you made it that long.
I am a work in progress! :) I am proud to say because I believe there is a better me ahead.
I found it through Alcoholics Anonymous and it has since evolved but the basic principles I learned there are still the key root of my living today. The drinking was only a part of the problem and so my my treatment had to be a holistic one.
Find your solution and stick with it, the freedom is amazing.
I love your attitude. I understand about AA irregularity with life. Hopefully you have measures in place now to stay the course, including direct frequent communication with a sponsor, and hopefully the big book.
I always felt like the stories in there were like a meeting, even though I couldn't put a face to them. Helped me a lot remember my commitment to sobriety.
I wish you well.
