Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
This is a great place to get good advice and great support, but I would use other tools that are out there to help yourself.
Best of luck, and keep your head high!
If I pick up the first drink, it not me makes the rest of my choices. The why doesn't matter.
The only soultion is avoid one drink one day at a time. But I've been down to one minute at a time before.
Start over at a meeting!
If you are an alcoholic go to AA work the programme and reover.
Good luck!
If you need help to stop, see your doc, get some meds like camparal. Sudden cessation of drinking can cause a fit or worse. It can kill.
Try to stay busy, avoid all the usual hangouts (like bars!), avoid anything that triggers a response in you to want alcohol.
If you have booze in the house - chuck it out. If you have a partner that drinks, ask them not to do it around you.
Deep breathing and relaxation will help with withdrawal.
Finally, remember you are not the only one going through this, reach out, ask for help and support. Make use of DS, there are wonderful people here who understand how it is.
Good Luck!

Booze=drama. Take away the booze, a lot of drama goes with it in my experience and all you're left with is =. hee hee..
Things that I used to find earth shattering are now no big deal at all...
Read through some posts on here and you might find some that you can relate to...good luck to ya! :)
The reason we drink, primarily, is that we like the effect alcohol has on us.
Sounds like you may have an obsession of the mind that only a Vital Spiritual Experience can allay.
Become willing to go to any length to have a spiritual experience and have that obsession removed.
I found the first day of not drinking to be the hardest, minute by minute but I knew that I wanted my peace back, or at least the opportunity to feel peace and that wasn't coming from drinking anymore. the first morning after not drinking the day before was really exciting and I knew that I was on the right path. not drinking really simplifies your life and all that insanity will slip away. start over now by knowing you have so much support here. go to a meeting, pray, do anything except drink. g
