Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Peace to ya
fuck what you must to satisfy self..........just keep in mind you are not the center of life........your family is.
I just wanted to say Hi and let you know at least for me to reach that peak so foreboding on your Avatar, yet so dignified an free with clear sight. I just did not drink for a day and went to AA . A few weeks earlier , in a beer drunken , laying in back yard, throwing up, so as to not wake anyone in the house drunk I asked a power or whatever was out there to please help me . Ended up in AA three weeks later with a long sober member of AA as my mentor . Got introduced to people at each meeting i went to and before I knew it I was introducing new people to those i had just been Introduced to. We are there for each other , and we try and most of time , do understand . Irregardless of any pre- conceived notions of a face to face meeting of AA meeting . My Introduction to my first meeting was many years ago" A Day at a Time " I have not drank , that was on Dec. 17 right in the midst of the holidays......

We understand where you are.
There is a way out, Misterjones.
Hey Mr. KEEP picking dates and KEEP trying to stop it. But also DO some things to help yourself. Set yourself up for success. And stop whining. You sound too much like me. I hate reading my own shit next day when I sober up. Pathetic. Get off your ass and do something about it. Try HARDER.
Dang, I wish I could listen to my own advice.
All the reasoning and rationale in the WORLD never helped me. I'm starting to realize reason has nothing to do with it. The only thing that works (I know I know) is JUST DON'T DRINK. Stop thinking. Stop reasoning. Stop searching. And JUST DONT DRINK. You obviously know that you CAN'T DRINK, so JUST DONT. May sound crazy, but it helps me.
After I posted last night I snuck out the door, pretending to be on the phone and went to the 7-Eleven down the street for some more beer.
I think my wife and I had an argument about Thanksgiving. I really don't remember but she was good to me this morning.
Thank you to all that replied. I'm sorry for always bringing the same shit to the table. I will try to be a more active member of this board instead of just bitching about my problems.
You honestly just are ready if you aren't willing to try and stop. You say you have all these things that mean so much to you and love and adore you, but the selfishness of the disease allows you to continue to take advantage of their love and devotion.
Why do you think you are the only one in the world that can't stop, many can't and many have - why don't you jump on board with the many that have.
i would hate to think losing your wife and kids is what will be your rock bottom as all of our rock bottoms are different -
Does that beer can jump into your hand does it force it's self down your mouth - I dont' think so - you are the one that picks it up and pours it in, so it's all up too to make that stop.
Peace!
At some point, you get sick of it, but for me I had to experience some serious physical issues and they weren't fun. I'm hoping that you don't have to go there. Have you ever had any serious sober time? Have you ever stopped for as long as 30 or 60 days? Just curious since I don't know your history. Just don't give up on yourself, okay?
